Moving your Ratings Data Files and Saved Schedules and contacts to a new computer

Do this process first, then install  the software on the computer.  NOTE: If you already installed the new software on the new computer you will need to need to delete the Radius File from the NEW COMPUTER.   Look for that note in the instructions below.. 

Here is the easiest way to move all data files, schedules, and contacts from the old computer to the new computer.    If you have been using Radius on your new computer know that will will overwrite any schedules, Contacts and Ratings data you have been using on the new computer.

You will need a Flash Drive or some way to copy the Radius folder from the old computer and then paste it into the new computer. Follow all the steps below so the Software will work correctly.

Go to the old computer, use File Explorer.  It is located on your desktop usually in the icons on the task bar at the bottom of your screen.  Click on the FIle Explorer Icon



Scroll down on the left hand side and Click on THIS PC


Double Click WINDOWS (C:)


Scroll down and find a folder called RADIUS on your old computer. Copy that whole folder (not just the individual files inside the folder) on to the Flash Drive


Go to the new computer and go through much the same process but paste in your C:Drive the Radius folder from your Flash Drive.  Here is how

On the new computer, access the Windows C:drive as described above.

NOTE: If you had already installed the software on your new computer, will need to delete the Radius folder from the C: Drive on the New Computer before pasting in the Radius Folder from the Flash Drive.   If there is no Radius Folder then you do not need to do that.

Now Paste in from the Flash drive the Radius Folder in to the  Windows (C:) drive of the New Computer.   It should now look something like this with the Radius Folder showing:

Now install the latest Radius Software ( your engineering department should have the latest verion.  If not reach out to us support@eastlanratings .com).  Once that is complete you will need to point the software to the market folder.  Here is how to do that.

Open Radius on the new computer and close out the Wizard.

Click on the window up at the top. 


That will bring up a market window.   Click on the market you want to use and then click OK (your popup window will only be showing you your markets)  Example: If I wanted to choose Atlanta I would click on it once then click on OK.


You see this popup window confirming you what you want to do.  Click OK.



You are now good to go.  NOTE:  the Report Design and your Logo does not transfer over so you will need to design that on your new computer. Click here to learn how
